There will also be a new airport in Samaná,El Catey (opening 1st November 2006) which will connect with the major European cities, USA, South America and the Caribbean. Time of flights: From New York (3 ¼ hrs), from Miami (1 ¾ hrs), from San Juan (35 min) from Toronto (5 hrs), from Santiago de Chile (8 hrs), from most of the European cities (8- 10 hrs). New International Airport of El Catey in Samaná is under construction and expected to open November 2006
